The Scan

A short daily check of all four rooms: above the floor, holding it, or below?

What it looks like
The Scan: each room marked above, hold or below, and one spotlight
Why it’s there

Once you’ve got a floor in each room, this becomes your daily ritual. At the end of the day you walk that hallway in your head and stop at each door, asking one quiet question: “Am I above my floor, holding it, or below it?” Above means you surpassed the minimum you set. Holding means you matched what you said you’d do. Below means you came up short of your own line.

Holding is a win. Full stop. The same as a day you went above is one. The Narrator will fight you on it every single night. It will gladly claim that you have been holding all your rooms for 2 weeks straight, and haven’t been above at all. It will claim that you are a loser for only holding. That is not true.

Because the day you decide holding doesn’t count is the day the floor stops working. Once you have to beat your floor to feel okay, it has slipped back into a goal, and you know how goals end.

And being below, that is just information. A light coming on in your dashboard, telling you which room needs you tomorrow, and which door to check first.

While you’re learning this, it takes four or five minutes, and that’s normal. Stick with it. It gets faster.

How to run it

Every evening, walk the four rooms and ask one question at each door: above my floor, holding it, or below it? Then one more: is there a conversation I’m circling? Adjust one thing tomorrow.

Pick the one room you’re actively pushing right now; let the others hold their floor.
